ジョニー・ナッシュは2017年よりオランダを拠点にする英国のミュージシャンである。10年以上にわたり独自の優しいギター音楽を追求し、2010年代半ばにはアンビエント音楽の新潮流を代表するアーティストの一人として頭角を現した。2014年に自身のレーベル「Melody As Truth」を立ち上げて以来、瞑想的で空間的でありながらメロディックなアンビエント音楽のサウンドを確立するソロ作品やコラボレーション作品を次々と発表している。最新アルバム『Once Was Ours Forever』は2025年6月にリリースされ、批評家から高い評価を得た。2023年のアルバム『Point Of Entry』を基盤に、11曲からなる本作はナッシュの没入感あふれる、ゆっくりと広がっていく世界へと聴き手をさらに誘い込み、フォーク、アンビエント・ジャズ、ドリームポップの境界を軽やかに繋ぎ合わせる。
宇宙的なアメリカン・ミュージックを思わせる「Bright Belief」から、豊かで重層的なシューゲイザーの質感を持つ「The Way Things Looked」まで、ナッシュの多彩なギター演奏がこのアルバムの核を成し、Tomo Katsurada、Satomimagae、Shoei Ikeda (maya ongaku)、Joseph Shabasonら豪華なミュージシャンが優しく支えている。

— Jonny Nash is a British musician who has been based in the Netherlands since 2017. He has been crafting his unique form of gentle guitar music for over a decade and emerged as one of the key artists in the new wave of ambient music in the mid-2010s. Since the launch of his label, Melody As Truth, in 2014, he has released a series of solo records and collaborations that cemented the sound of his contemplative, spacious, yet melodic ambient music. His most recent album ‘Once Was Ours Forever’ was released in June 2025 to critical acclaim. Building on his 2023 album ‘Point Of Entry,’ this collection of eleven compositions draws us further into Nash’s immersive, slowly expanding world, effortlessly connecting the dots somewhere between folk, ambient jazz and dreampop. From the cosmic Americana of ‘Bright Belief’ to the lush, layered shoegaze textures of ‘The Way Things Looked’, Nash’s versatile guitar playing lies at the heart of this album, gently supported by a cast of collaborators including Tomo Katsurada, Satomimagae, Shoei Ikeda and Joseph Shabason.
